Rimmel Liquid Mousse foundation

Hello guys,

today I'll be reviewing the Rimmel Liquid Mousse foundation.

When I saw it I thought I had found the answer to all my problems. I love mousse foundations for their coverage but I don't like their cakeyness. A liquid mousse would be the answer, right?

I bought the lightest shade available, which was 100 Ivory. Unfortunately, I only realised later that there are supposed to be lighter shades available.

This color is a bit too beige for my skin color.

And when it comes to the texture: at first it's great. It really does give a flawless finish to the face. But in the evening I looked the way I did when I looked at my worst, which was years ago. I used to use a lot of mousse foundation that would look like cake, slightly too orange, and oily by the evening. What the mousse did was somehow make all my pores bulge, they would really stick out. I could rub my nose and it would feel like chicken skin. I hadn't experienced anything like that in years since I stopped using mousse foundations. Now, I felt like that again. My skin looked like that of Katy Perry (Cakey Perry):

See those pores on her chin? Yeah... I mean I get oily in the evening with liquid foundation too, but my pores never start to bulge like this normally!

So I'm very disappointed, because the whole point of this product was to avoid cakeyness while still getting good coverage. I think the problem lies in the fact that mousse foundations are simply too thick and cover too much to actually sink into the skin. This also makes it stain and slip by the end of the day. They also rarely come in nice porcelain shades that match my skin.

So, this is definitely not a good product. I wouldn't know why anyone should buy it.

x

Helena
